As noted, all items are tribal and time period specific so if you have certain things in mind, let us know. If that's not important to you, we will choose. Most items are aged have patina to some degree. If you don't want this, be sure to let us know that as well. Most pieces are signed in an unnoticed spot so they cannot be sold by unscrupulous traders as old artifacts. Each item shown can be changed in various ways to suit your needs and remember that while we will strive to make your's look very close to what our photos show, each piece is in some way or another, a one of a kind. Either real braintan or commercial buckskin altered to resemble real braintan is offered for anything using buckskin...the altered buckskin looks great and is less costly. All beadwork done with strong beading thread. Beadwork with real sinew is available at double the cost of the beadwork only. There are so many items available that we can only show a cross section so if you don't see just what you want, be sure to ask as a great deal of our work is custom ordered. Often we have additional side or back views and can scan them to you if desired. Check back often as new creations are being added.

Split-Horn Ermine Headdress (Blackfoot style replica) Several tribes used the split-horn ermine headdress but the Blackfoot headdresses were different in some ways. For example, most used split buffalo horns and other horns were made of wood and wrapped with wool tradecloth. Two other identifying qualities are that all ermine pieces are split and sewn into tubes including those on the cap and side drops which is very time consuming. The other is that very rarely did they use a beaded brow band. Trailers were usually full length but some were shorter like this one and others had no trailer but used extra long ermine skins instead.   Pronghorn antelope horns are available instead of split buffalo horn. $1100. Full trailer instead of half length with approximately 50 hand painted in-line golden eagle tail feathers please add $200. Ask about display stands if needed.
Split-horn Ermine Headdress  Different from Blackfoot style in that it has a beaded brow band and the ermine strips on the cap are not cut and sewn into tubes but the ermine drops are. Trailer is buckskin or wool tradecloth backed with calico cloth and edged with muslin or ribbon. Hand painted golden eagle feathers.  Bottom of trailer has hawk bells. Sun Dance plume. $800. Ask about display stands if needed.
Dog Man Headdress  Southern Cheyenne style replica Dog Man headdress. Dyed turkey feathers cut to replicate vulture and other scavenger bird feathers which were common in this style. Out of respect for this warrior society it is not made entirely in the same manner as theirs.  $750. Ask about display stands if needed.

Capote (Blanket Coat).  Wool blanket sewn into a comfortable and historically accurate coat. Very popular with Natives and trappers of the fur trade era however this style of blanket coat was used from the 1700's to present day. Most were made from Hudson Bay Company blankets however others like Whitney were also used not to mention any blanket that was available.  Many had a hood as this one does. Some also had extra decoration like the red wool tradecloth fringes on the sleeves and shoulders and tradecloth or ribbon edging.  A wrap around  sash made from the same material is included. Often called the candy stripe this design was most popular with the Plains Indians. Unless you provide a new blanket which is fine with us,  we use mostly used good quality  blankets to keep the cost down for our customers as new ones can be pretty spendy.  $250 - $475 One like this one is $350
