1860 Cavalry Sabre Replica of an 1860 Cavalry sabre decorated as might have happened when the Plains Indians took one in a battle. While we've not seen an old sabre decorated in just this way, we feel that it is an historically accurate possibility. Painted buckskin using earth and mineral paints in blue/green/yellow or red/yellow. Shoulder carrying strap and belt strap. Lazy stitch beaded strip, Crow beads, tin cones and 44-40 cartridge shells. Hand painted eagle feathers and horsehair locks. Handle has a drop with eagle feathers, tradecloth, hawk bells, fur strip and horsehair. Sabre and scabbard are aged. Blade is 32" long and about 40" overall. An impressive piece and we've sold several. $495

Horse Honoring Dance Stick -Home Decor Paint Horse. Often there were certain horses that warriors were particularly fond of which had carried them safely through battles and dangerous buffalo hunts. Carvings representing a certain horse were often made to honor that horse. Some were decorated and others were very simple and if they had been wounded, those wounds were often painted on. These that we make represent some of those honor carvings however have more decorations then most of the originals. The wood is pine and supported on a painted stick with a cedar wood base. Our Paint Horse has a beaded and painted mask, many feathers, beaded medicine bag, hawk bells, horsehair locks, mane is horsehair and a buffalo rawhide shield. Very attractive table decoration. Approximately 24"long x 18" tall. Each one varies a little in height. Different colors also available. $350

Snowshoes - Home Decor Created to look like someone had made them in a survival situation using what was on hand....they look old. The wood is willow and the rawhide is deer. Unless otherwise requested, all skulls are average size bulls. Of course other designs can be provided. $410.
Painted Hides - Home Decor Below we offer several painted hides in both hair-on and buckskin. These designs are very attractive making great wall hangings and while they contain elements that could have been part of an old painted hide, tipi liner or wearing robe, some are not what would been found in their entirety as shown here during the 19th century. Those shown below are painted with acrylics. Earth paints available if desired. Check back as we will be adding new ones. We've done so many over the years that we never even took photos of most of them. Any of these can also be painted on buffalo or elk. Very popular item.
